Also, I run every now and again which will also be cool to track. But i mainly cycle.

 

Lots of responses in favour of the Edge 500, and I agree for cycling, I use one and it's great.

 

But for running, how would you use it?

I hold it in my hand but rarely run further than 5km

It will work, but really a cycling computer....but you can hack it...it won't give you pace though.

 

If you want that functionality, you need a 910xt....the ultimate with a big price tag.

Get an XT310 strap and clip it on - not so easy to read while running though - sits at 90 degrees .

I wish i could find a wrist based HRM.

 

No straps, just measures HR through the wrist unit.

That would be cool. My buddy and myself were talking about the same thing the other day
