Hi guys

I have stripped and cleaned my crankset and bb after hearing a noise during my last few rides. Everything is ready to be reassembled but I'd like to know if there is a specific grease type to use when re- greasing all the important bits? Is all purpose grease ok to use or is there a bike specific grease to use?

Thanks!

I use white lightning crystal grease.. Clear, so it doesn't ruin the bike, is waterproof, non toxic and biodegradable... Mine ran me about 90 bukc from Solomon for 100g...

Use it mainly on bb and threads, works like a charm

Have any Hubsters used this product for previously mentioned applications including hubs? Would appreciate some feedback (R45 at Builders).

Looks good, should work perfectly in bike bearings how big is the tube, ml/grams?

R45 is not much money

I just bought a tube of this the other day, have yet to use it. Seems to me like it should work alright.

I have used this grease and found it no better (or worse) than normal GP grease from Midas. I tried it in wheel bearings , now I just use it around the house and still use standard grease for all my bearings (but I service these pretty regularly) etc.

Don't be fooled by the word 'Marine' as it still turns into a dirty grey mess when it comes into contact with water.

Mmmmmm.........again some "pushing the limits" marketing (and applying their product to "LAWN MOVERS"). Thanks for the feedback Mojoman. I have not done the BB or hubs yet, but have serviced the cabling system on my daughter's bike. Applied a thin layer of this grease on the cables. Cables are moving freely now.......only time will serve as a test.

Hub always valuable and informative on such technical issues. Maybe make mention of cost (ronds, mandelas, bokke, etc) and place of distribution. Finish Line Teflon? Motorex 2000?

Smooth and friction free day for all!
