Damn, it poured all night.

 

Spare a thought for the riders sleeping in tents, waking up in the rain, putting on wet shoes to ride in the mud again today

Yes, it looks like they have no rain there in Robertson at the moment, but they will get rain on Greyton's side of the Riviersonderend mountains. People that know that area will know it usually rains there if there is rain in the air. Almost like what happens with Newlands.

Okay so after watching stage 2 highlights I learnt this..

 

I will stick with my steel brakes.. Thank you very much

 

I know what went wrong with Huber on stage 1.. see after the prologue stage someone (I suspect a certain spez rider) switched off the plug where his charger was plugged into, you see they must have put a guard by that plug after stage 1.. the man is a machine

 

Max is still impressing me.. I saw that little push he gave Evans

 

Arianne and Anika are also most impressive.. the ladies are awesome

 

Suss and Bigham.. wowie heard they are top 25

 

Every single one of those riders that completed and even those that didn't complete but started that stage are my heroes.. takes some serious will power to continue.

Must of been long time ago, i mean Lefty's and in yellow jersey!

 

Not sure of the year but it was the Cannodale Vredenstein team, after numerous punctures they ran out of everything tyre related and opted to finish the stage like that to preserve their lead - they went on to get the overall win that year so it was a good call.

 

Mavic had that wheel on display overseas to show how strong their wheels are - it did not collapse or anything, just had no side edges left.

Every yr during the build up to the epic I tell my husband jis we must do this one day and every yr when I watch the highlights I tell him.. jis I am glad we aren't there lol
