Thought we always name and shame and bitch and moan about the guys and clubs giving us a bad name so here is a big ups to the cyclist in the Cyclefunatic kit that stopped at the Durban Rd/Kendal Rd traffic light this morning. Keep it up!

Wow! A cyclist stopped at a red light. Incredible.

So now we are getting special mention on the hub, for doing what we are supposed to be doing anyway.

I've been stopping at red lights since I rode a bike as a kid, many decades ago. Do I qualify for a medal?

It shouldn't be necessary to congratulate people for obeying the law. Actually, it's pathetic.

I'm seeing more traffic obeying than the odd transgressor these days!!

Keep it up...we as a club are also working hard at getting the correct message across to our members...

I wish that message could in some way be passed on to motorists......

Do the following experiment (If you aren't already a law abiding motorist....):

For one week follow and obey EVERY rule of the road. Speed limit, white lines, stop signs, robots, every single one and pay attention to the rest of the drivers around you. I guarantee you that you will be in the VERY small minority who are law abiding citizens.

Then when you get to the next set of robots, have a look at who's around you..... Yip, most of the pielkoppe that were buzzing past you a few minutes ago breaking all those rules trying to get to their destination as fast as possible. Sure some slip through but the majority will just end up at the next set of lights waiting for you to pull up behind them....

Worlds shortest thread

Don't be so cynical, there are still a few of us around who obey the rules of the road.

Just think - the next motorist that nearly mows you down may have been the guy stuck at a red traffic light while you cruised through as if the laws of the road were merely suggestions.

At some point we need to lead by example.

Although I believe the thread intent was honourabe I have to concur with you....its a bit like like wowing great service...you pay for it you should expect it!! Its only when we become so desensitized that these actions receive our praise!
