Your seeding sounds about right. This is not a small race like D2D where an index of 21 will get you into the A group. The guys in the B group probably have indexes of about 9-11.

They don't do reseeding at number collection. You have to submit a reseeding application email. Here is the form for 2014: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7XWoHLgHhkrSU9uOFlvU0pqUFFqeHAyMlk4RERrbXVmcF9v/view?usp=sharing

Unfortunately I think you may have missed the boat.

I called the race organisers and was informed that I would be able to change at number collection, bearing in mind that each batch does have a limit on riders.

As a side note, when seeded my index was 54 or there about on pedalpower.org.za. This has now come down to 21 after 3 races. Do the event organisers use Racetec for seeding or pedalpower?

Could anyone in A, B or C confirm their respective index as a point of reference?

Thanks

Is there a difference?

% nslookup results.pedalpower.org.za

Address:	8.8.8.8#53

Non-authoritative answer:
results.pedalpower.org.za	canonical name = results.racetec.co.za.

All this talk about wheel sucking reminded me know of that guy that mentioned on last years thread that he hit someone for wheel sucking. Do you guys remember that?

Here is his post...

Loved it so much I even took a screenshot of it last year. No idea why I still have it... :w00t:

I don't even know what that means - but from my experience, pedalpower is delayed somewhat.

I have been seeded in E batch with an index of 21. I am going to request a reseeding at number collections, hopefully I can get into the B or C batch.

There's not much of a point to be seeded better than E unless you are looking for a sub 2h35 finish.  Top guys in E should be doing sub 2h40, at least on the normal course (pre 2014)

Assumption or fact ?

I'm not so sure about this....

Over the last four years I've started in E, D, B and this year C, haven't done a 2.35 yet, and I certainly didn't finish at the back of my group in any of them.

I just accept where they put me, and ride my bike as fast as I can. If I want to stress over things, I'll go to the office.

Well I am in now thanks to the entry from Warrant Officer Kriel. Thought about giving it a miss, but know the feeling on the day when its all happening and you are on the sidelines all too well. Sorry I am going to miss seeing Ms Vos in action but I will take satisfaction on cycling the same hallowed road as she has.

One climb that is going to be baptism of fire is up from the Jukskei to Woodmead, I do it every year after the race because I park that side, it hurts.

This time, def. going to be parking at 4-ways mall, or a bit closer, will do a reccie later for a safe parking spot.

+1 less stress and fretting and sleepless nights this way :)

I am in my lowest start batch ever, I am cool with that.

Get on the bike, get the day started and finish the race ,that is my approach.
