I've got yellow from No.10 onwards

Lucky you, from there website

How many Cycle Challenges do I have to ride to get a special coloured race number?

Once you have completed 10 Cycle Challenges, you will receive a yellow race number. If you have done between 15 - 17 of the Cycle Challenges, you will get a blue race number. For those doing their 18th Cycle Challenge, they will be riding with a red number. Please note that the special number may be collected at the Special Numbers Counter at Race Number Collection, when collecting your original race number.

I thought it was strange (at the time) that I got a yellow number on my 10th event instead of after completing 10.

Maybe they've corrected it

Picked up my number this morning. The new system didnt really make the process faster than last year.

About 15 people in front of me and it took about 15 minutes, so not bad

Then I went for a drive around the start of the new route

They are still busy tarring some of the sections of the road from the start to Mnandi Drive.

Still gravel where you turn onto Mnandi drive but a team of 20 guys were slaving away there.

3km from there to Summit Road, nice gradual climb, will definitely hurt.

Its relatively flat from there with a small climb again at around 6-7km and the last small climb before you turn off Summit Road.

The climb up to the M1 will also hurt.

Going to be a tough first 25km

Last year was also my 10th race. Collect my number at the normal counters when I got home saw it was a yellow number. Will go to the special counter tomorrow for my number.

2.6 km. proper gradient and it hurts loads more when you ride it as opposed to driving it.

One constant gradient with a few drops, wind in your face and from George's cafe to R 55 will be hard work.

From Crowthorne to the M1 is a 11.6 km. slog and will hurt more than hell.

Tough first 40 km.

Anything worth while at the expo? same as every other year ??

Nothing to get excited over at all - probably the smallest 94.7 Expo I've seen.

You get a yellow number competing for your 10th to 14th year. You have got the correct colour .

The pamphlet stated if you do not receive your special number in your race pack - then go to the special number counter

We (my club) had a ride 2 weekends back, starting in Fourways, so we rode Pooks hill relatively early on the ride. Our fast group's pace was an average one yet we dropped a number of "fairly strong" members. They were more than a minute behind over the 2.5Km (of Pooks Hill), so yes, it's going to hurt a lot of people come Sunday.

Where is Pooks hill? Beginning or end of the race?
