Wanneer is 'n fiets nou te klein vir jou. Eks 174cm lank been lengte 78cm so as ek reg verstaan moet ek 'n 17.5inch raam ry, maar sal ,n 16.5 nou te klein wees.

Dis hoe ek dit verstaan volgens my beperkte kennis.

As hy reg voel ry hom.Maar probeer n medium.Mag dalk beter voel.Goeie indikasie is drie vingers tussen jou en die boonste raam(as jy staan natuurlik)Dis seker nie die beste advies nie, maar werk vir my

There is no right answer.... only some guide lines. Most serious riders spend their entire life tweaking setup and experimenting with different frame sizes and geometries, seat height and position, stem length/drop, handle bar width/sweep, crank size.

If you start out it is better to go by the geometry suggested by the manufacturer and get an objective opinion (the shop/person selling is not objective). They will ALWAYS want to sell what they have.

People often buy a too small or too large frame bike because it "felt right" when they took it for a spin around the parking lot. Later, when taking it on a 3, 4, 5 hour long ride the sore back, neck, hands, bum shows up. Then they try longer, shorter stems, moving saddle forwards, backwards, trying to compensate for the wrong size frame. Often that helps for comfort, but then they start to struggle and even fall in the technical sections of a ride because the balance, geometry of the bike is now out of whack and it is less forgiving when you ride it close to the limits.

Buy a frame in the recommended range for your size and the handling and getting it set up for those long rides will be so much easier.
