Awesome day today weather was not as bad as I though and turned out perfect day out.

Very polite riders as well. Some riders got out of your way without even

saying a word.

Great event!

Lovely race, well organised as always.Milky, did I lie to you about this race being a must do? I DNF today, I packed everything for the race, except my legs. :whistling:  HR was also elevated, ended with an avg HR of 171 for the race, with a max of 183 (for a 50yr old toppie) Took the last 18 km turn to the venue, ended up with just on 38 km. At least I got to do a good deed for the day, as I was able to stop and help two ladies struggling to fix a flat wheel. Only two gripes I have, is the relative lack of skill of riders on the ST. Was held up countless times by guys walking sections that was completely ride able. I later on resorting to slowing down completely when I saw guys walking sections, only to ride it myself without problems, as soon as they cleared the section. And I do not rate myself as a "technical fundi".And then where the routes merged, it was a complete mess from then onwards. Walkers all over the place, really frustrating. Orgs need to look at this for next year, and find an answer.Other than that, Hats Off to the org.

I took the walkers in my stride as all of them were on the left going up a steepish climb after the water table. And I am fairly chilled about guys battling on the S. T. cos I was (and some would say, still am) fairly shocking in the balance and talent category.

But what made me cross was some clowns dragging their back wheels at 5kph into corners. If you are one of the skid mark Kings - it takes effort to make beautiful trails. Don't be a chop and damage them unnecessarily.

If you leave Darling on the road towards Yzerfontein / R27 the farm Wolwefontein is on your right a few km down the road. Honesty box at start of trail and I think the longer route is 20 odd km long and includes all the single track the 42 k used today AND some more.

Thanks :) will be dragging a few people up there shortly. Does it include the S. T. that was only on the 62km as well? (looks like it is across the road)

Awesome event, reckon I'll return. My longest MTB race thus far . I did the 65km... Those climbs at the end were hectic and the mud made it that much more challenging.

As for the single tracks? Bloody awesome, but, yes was a bit frustrating with people going VERY slowly.

Where do you find the official results?

Nice race with stunning single track sections - pitty about having to ride some sections with the 18km guys but still good fun. My only gripe about the race was that I only did 54 km of the 62 km route due to a marchall that was not really interested in what he was suppose to do so I missed the last fun part with the big climbs but I will be doing it again next year!

I saw those on the first climb after we left the 42km route. They were no longer in one piece I am afraid .

yeah i figured was busy cleaning them holding onto one earpiece when it snapped off the hinge, i was busy sucking a wheel at the time so was not going to stop for that pair.

I don't remember people going off course last year but this year there seem to be a lot of people that did. Maybe it's the new course.

It makes the results pretty meaningless as the guys that only did 54km are listed in the overall results. My GPS had the course at 66km. This is always a problem when you run multiple distance races at similar times. Something for the organizers to think about for next year. Love this race and will be back next year.

My time with the 54 km that I did put me on 9th . I would have placed in the 60's range if I did the whole route, sooooo frustrating not to be able to compere my effort with the guys that did the full route - hey the 9th place looks good

I also saw a couple guys deliberately taking short cuts around the 35km mark. So i wouldn't trust any of the positions.
