Bit of a rave really, just to say, I am pretty new to the "Hub" but thoroughly enjoy it. I work in the Mid East sand pit for long periods away from my bikes (ahhh, family too!) and I get my cycling fix from the Hub when away from them bikes, thanks guys and gals!

Is that it? I thought you were organizing a party. Some cool tunes and a hoof shaker. Oh well!

Why are you awake at 2 am? Secret training?

Spokey be safe out there and let us know when you get your Fat bike..

OP are you permanently there or on a rotational basis? Whereabouts are you? Any two wheel action out there that you know of?

I am currently in Dubai, there is a lot of cycle action here. There is an 80+ km mtb track out in the desert and the road guys use the motor racing track. I am goong to check out bike shops this week.

Sadly we are heading into the very hot time of year when the coldest temps in the early hours are the wrong side of 30

What are you doing there? Koe wait?? His working?

Yup, normal home away from home is Kuwait!, nice enough place, but not conducive to road cycling, the driving is, well, a bit mad really.

I am considering bringing a bike out as there are some mtb clubs but I travel a lot and at this stage it is not really worth it. Bikes and all the tools etc are really expensive in Kuwait.

Swimming and gym bike it is.

I used to live in Dubai. Also found the hub while I was there. Became my main source of information and entertainment. Kept me fully in touch with the happenings in good ole Saaf Efrieke as well.

The 80kay track through the desert is actually a tarred dedicated cycle track for roadies. If you in town go to Wolfis Bike Shop on Sh. Zayed Rd or further out is Revolution Cycles in Motor City(close to the autodrome where the roadies go on Wednesday's) owned by a Saffa (Stewart) and head mechanic Des (also Saffa).

Im in talks now with a company that will hopefully have me based in Cape Town but with a few visits a year to Kuwait where they do most of their work. You know how they say, "once you get the sand in your shoes......."

Thanks for the info, will check out the stores this week, before we head back to Kuwait. I was misinformed on that desert track. There is a club for off roaders in Kuwait, will check that out too.
