Just watched Stage 3, Kittel looking good and coming into form

I reckon he is in form, shaper.

That was one helluva victory.

Know what you mean though.

Stage 4:

The stage itself is a loop, and then a kermesse around Bari. Basically this will be three hours, pretty much flat out, with a sprint at the end of it.

Quite another technical circuit at the end of the next stage

Positioning will be key, especially the final few kms.

GO VIVIANI

Cycling News this morning is saying that Kittel is expected to climb off his bike before the big mountains after all.

It's expected he'll hang around until the flat Stage 13 on Friday 23th May, which finishes in Rivarolo Canavese (158km).

After that, those of us who have Viviani, Bouhanni and Swift on our teams will be able to finally start earning some decent sprinter points.

I thought as much...

However, surely he will win again today plus add at least another 2 victories before stage 13.

I honestly can't see how anyone can beat a sprinter who can close down a gap in the final sprint (without a teammate) and then out sprint the competition to the line. Yes I'm referring to stage 3.

Lets hope Bouhanni takes it today.

He is a bit better technically(same goes for Viviani, he's team doing a good job thus far in the sprints), but not nearly as powerful as Kittel. I wonder if anyone is.

I'll stick my neck out and say Stage 5 could well be Mathews 1st sprint win. Would be good to see him do it in Pink as well. Everything else pretty much says Kittel though... especially today. Quick warm up and then start the lead out.

Kittel won't publish power out put (not that it matters) but I imagine that his 10 seconds @ peak must be truly frightening.

Hmm, yah, could be although Kittel is looking really ominous.

As for me I am hoping for Ali Jet to poke his nose out and take the stage, those old legs might still be feeling strong after such a short stage.

I'm glad Kittle is doing so well, Not only cause he is one of my Fantasy picks and that he is making up for the DNS Dan Martin who is another one of my picks, but for the Tour.

It makes for a mouth watering prospect to see him at his top, Cav at his top with Renshaw in his train. Doubt if Griepel will be ready after his Collar bone. Would have been nice to see the three battle it out and then the sprints with a slight up hill being battled out buy Sagan, Bouhanni and Viviani, oh and dont forget Mr. Liege himself.

Agreed! I recon Matthews could very well win stage 5 and/or 6 due to the humps at the finish.

This is scary, but apparently it was nowhere near the Giro route and it could very well have just been pure coincidence that it occurred during the Giro. The media will obviously be quick to work up some sensationalism.
