Slowly slowly catches the Monkey.  Finished with the forks (no DT125 forks ever looked this bling!) and the front mudguard is now sitting nice and snug.  it will be off for chroming this week and the bracket off for paint.

Now the long wait for the parts to arrive from the UK and I can get the motor together.

My OCD shouts that the mount is not symmetrical with the fork but the amount of work involved to weld on an extra piece to make up the difference is just too much.  And it's going to be painted black anyway so hopefully it won't stand out as much.

So I've got to the point where I had to do this to make any serious progress on the Scrambler....Burns my ass, but it didn't have a magneto, and you don't get them in SA. No.1 better not go and resign this weekend......

£831.40

That's the coil and spinning magnet parts?

Seeing this isn't a stock build/renovation wouldn't it have been hugely cheaper/more convenient to have an engineering shop fabricate those bits from scratch.

What fuel consumption do you get on the 390?

And when you say you want more power, how do you mean? Is it's top end too low, or does it just lack that extra oemph when you hit the open road?

I'm looking at buying one, but will be for work and home and then the occasional further trip.

There is plenty oomph in the Duke. Nippy and fast. I want to do some more riding on gravel roads, and touring.

I get between 25-30km/l. Depends on how hard I am riding. Love my Duke. One of the best commuters.

Motomia was re torqued. hopefully that is the end of that problem. The bike shop did say that the engine is getting to the end of its days with 30 000 km on the clock.

That I'm afraid is the problem with Chinese bikes - initial cash layout is low, but when it comes down to rebuilding the engine, you're going to find things like Mains and bigend are almost impossible to source. Most, if not all Japanese single cylinder engines are only beginning to run well at 30000km.  Hell we had a AG200 which used to pitch up at one of the dealers with over 100000kms - it had been round the clock once and was on it's way to 150000km!
