Cool pic of your bike ... but why is there some dodgy looking old guy posing next to it?

My DR Big project is ongoing. I'm reassembling and coming to grips with the wiring harness and connectors. At least one of the multiplugs (?) has become brittle from heat ( its above the engine). I suspect that some mods have been done to remove the clutch switch and decompression lever switch both of which prevent the engine starting unless they are activated. In fact I hope they have been removed because that would explain why I have a lead from the decomp lever that has nowhere to plug into 🙂 ...

I had to repair the airbox where the filter fasteners were mounted in the plastic. Someone decided it was a good idea to simply screw self tappers into the plastic to hold the filter in. I glued captive nuts into the housing, where they were supposed to be and blocked the screw holes with epoxy and now have a more or less 100% airbox.

I replaced the oil and filter some time back and also wanted to check the valve clearance but found the circular screw cover on the engine that accesses the crank to enable it to be turned  was going nowhere. I even removed the entire side cover to see if it could be turned from the inside, to no avail. Irritatingly, the access port cover has what can only be described as a "coin slot" to turn it, so I had to fashion a tool to fit it but still without success. Maybe Suzuki used to have a special tool?

It was a blast. I also perved over this machine. All original except for the exhaust system.

Being a Suzuki lad as a youngster I preferred the Katana. Still remember the BP oil print ad where the 4 jap marques each had a Bike with a racer next to it.

I had a 900F at one point. Bike was unbreakable.

900F you say, beautiful looking bike but wasn't that the one that could get a vicious headshake at around 120kph? Never with me (I never owned one, but a spin now and again) but rumour had it.....

I think you would do well on a Super Duke; wallet and licence not so much.  Check medical aid and income protection too.

My knees are buggered - shorten Huskies or buy something else?

Yes, love them, but I like fact that with my 1190 I can blast off on all roads…….though in all honesty, today I avoided the dirt to Sedgefield after all this rain……..not as much faith in the Trail Max Missions in the mud as other tyres!

I never experienced this. But I was young and dumb at the time. Always kept it well maintained and tyres in good Nick.

IOM TT is insane this year. Weather is great racing is top class. Men of men.

Michael Dunlop might just break uncle Joey's record for wins this year. He's already surpassed John McGuinness' tally. It's only proper that a Dunlop owns that record.

Edit. Win #25 for young Dunlop with a 130.4mph lap on a 600cc Yam. Pretty sure that's a record. He's REALLY pulling finger this year. It's well known that he's.... um. A little difficult to deal with from a team management perspective. This year he seems to be running his own bikes and team which seems to really work for him.

Also He doesn't do BSB like the other top guys. He's a pure road racer. Maybe the last top level one.
