Nice work @Andymann ...... but AutoCAD R14 ....... did you need a generator to jump start that old software!

EDIT: If I recall correctly one used old Shakesperian English in the command prompt to execute commands.

It's not even the real deal - when I was in 2nd year I think, we all got given a beta version to test and I have just kept mine.  If you think that's old, you should see the Laptop I am running it on - Windows XP because it won't run on anything later than that!

But as my Dad used to say, sometimes the fastest route is the route you know and for the small drawings I do I really couldn't be bothered to learn a new Drawing package

Oh and I might just have bought in my World what I consider to be a Holy Grail.  In 1984 my Dad bought me 3 x DT's - they were scrap bikes from ISCOR and I think he paid R20 each.  That got me into bikes and started my love for Yamaha DT's.  From those 3 I built two - a 125 which I learnt to ride on, and a 175 that I sold to my brother for University.  When the time came for me to find University transport it was of course a DT175.  I always felt that if I could find another original one I would consider it - and over December I did - so I did a quick trip down to the South Coast - Uvongo and bought it.  One owner and very very very original......

I have never owned an Italian motorcycle, lusted after the 916 back in the day but just could not afford the Frisoli pricing. Nowadays, I can’t contort myself to fit on out and out sport bikes so been eyeing the Streetfighter and monster 937 ranges.

long story short, Ducati, having grown tired of my continual harassment to ride their bikes made me an offer I couldn’t understand. Got a superb deal so had to do it. Monster is now discontinued here due to Euro 5.5 engine requirements, the monster is only 5 compliant. Also appears that the monster will be discontinued because the new streetfighter with the new V2 motor is much cheaper than the outgoing model. So, Ducati want to get rid of stock they holding, literally got a brand new bike for less than a year old second hand model and got extended warranty. Winner winner. And I prefer Ducatis being white.  IMG_1544.jpeg.aa788875454986e3070fb58ec2c98414.jpeg

Tis a beautiful bike, but I am after a yellow Duke. There is a 2018 821 or whatever Monster for sale in SA. However, I do really want an 1100 EVO. Couple for sale in Josie with Nicky Haden and a certain VR paint scheme…….prices too salty for me!

Those Hayden/rossi graphics are a kit one buys to replace the standard parts. Not sure what it costs but it would be expensive, can go back to standard if the owner still has the original parts. These kits were available for all the monster range up to the 937 iirc.

Righty oh…..the Ducati Monster has gone the hard way. I obtained a fine deal on a new addition in my mid 90’s to mid 2000’s twin cylinder collection. Bit of a mix but I like them……..

Yamaha MT01, BMW RS1100R Boxer Cup Rep, Ducati 1098 and Ducati 749 and now one of these..…

I went the other way back in the day and bought the VTR1000. Absolutely loved that bike with two bros exhausts and a few minor mods. Ran a 1:59 at kyalami with that bike back in the day. It was a glorious machine with the only drawback being 48 mm carbs that used juice at a rate of knots unlike any motorcycle I have ever owned.

when I bought it, honda were battling to sell em as everyone was buying the TL so got a great deal. Classy bike and unfortunately one day it was stolen. By then the VTR SP had come out and was winning so the vtr profile raised and prices were up and couldn’t afford a replacement with the insurance payout.

The TL was always the hornier of the 2. Had a bad boy rep. My mate had one of the first and Simon F loved his back then. Never stopped raving about it back in the day.

congrats man, lovely example.

New bike day. Rode 70 miles home in 4 degree temps but sunny and dry roads. Bike is small for 937cc motorcycle, agile and a pile of fun. Being tall I have had the high seat installed. Bought from Ducati Abingdon and got a monster deal. I like chewing the cud with sales folks. In January they sold 13 bikes and so far this month 11. Considering these are the worst 2 months for selling motorcycles that’s pretty good as Ducati I guess is a premium brand. What cost of living crisis eh.

first mod done  🤣

Congrats on the new bike. That is a fine one for the country lanes of The Mud Patch!

Took my gsa 850 out for a ride and then immediately afterwards got on the monster, its tiny in comparison and a barrel of laughs. Not as smooth as gsa and more agricultural but what fun. Had a street trip 765 a few years ago and this is even more agile. Crazy. Got good low down grunt.

gonna be fun in the sun this summer.

Congrats on the TL Spokey. We have a friend who owned a TL. That twin sounded awesome!!

Nice Monster ICM. Always had a soft spot for the Ducati monster.

Had Shoulder surgery a couple of weeks ago, and even though it's been raining for 5 days straight I miss riding my moto a lot.
