Hi all

I have a set of racing wheels. They have Tufo tubbies on them. However due to a lack of Iron distance races (and an indoor trainer) I basically use them 5 times a year at most.

My question is how should I store them?

Should I keep them pumped up at 12 bar?

Should I put leather-softener or some sort of lubricant on them?

Thx

My zipps arent used much, due to little road racing.

I dont do anything major to them while they are resting nicely in the dining room.

I will clean them and pump the wheels before events.

Tubbies are better if they have matured a bit.

My Zipp tubbies deflated after a couple of days. when I pumped the front one up, it just popped at the valve stem. Think it has something to do with the stans and flat tubbie. After this incident, I prefer keeping them at around 6bar when they're resting.

I just hang clean spare wheels up on a padded hook in the garage - BUT - please inspect the tire for cracks/damage before using it again - they do age and develop micro cracking etc.

Keep your Tufo's firm.

Anywhere from 7 to 1.5 bar.

They can crease and it puts them off balance for a while...nothing serious a few hours pumped up and they fine.

Store the wheels valve down so any water leaves the system, via the valve area, with its lack of glue/tape.

I'd be happy to store your unused race wheels on my bicycles and give them the attention they deserve. :whistling:
