Agree that neutral zones are a myth.

I'm going to coast down the hill (way behind my start group), and then wait for the next group to come through.

Raised some of the above concerns with the organisers, and received the following in an e-mail:

"It will be a neutral zone till the bottom. Route has more left turns instead of right and we pass and clear the busy roads earlier."

Neutral zone??? whats that??? iv done mtb races where neutral zone is motor pacing behind a quad. Not fair on those who genuinely try obey that rule. Edited by NRS182

Must be kidding themselves. At Jock, stage 2, AL was split before the neutral zone was even done.....

As long as all the holes are fixed and guys decend responsibly, the start should be fine, If you know you cant decend fast then stay clear ... you will catch the guys on the next two drags... potentially :whistling:

Entered. Judging by the entries to the Carousel recently, it looks like road riding is dying a rather public death.

I think the price has just shot up so much no one can afford to do 3 /4 races a months at R300.

We didnt do the corousel because of championchip, out & back route and the weekend after was suncity and the budget is tight.

Look D2d is RR00, probably not gonna get a goodie bag

The Race for victory. R230 + I get a goodie bag and a free tshirt.....I think thats the cheapest I have payed for a race this year.

Really does look like road racing is dying a very rapid death - entries extended until 31 August - which probably means that there were not as many entries as anticipated before last night's deadline ...

Yip. Will be something to tell the grand kids.

"Back in the day, groups of us used to ride our bikes on tar, with cars all around!"

"Really, Grandad! That must have been a long time ago."

I have never done this race before, and don't know what to expect, but suspect it will entail no small amount of suffering for me.
