River Rat Posted March 27, 2015 Share oy! I'd better get to the NANDO's stand BEFORE you guys then...please give me a head-up of when you start...i'd like to start in front of the "pancake" bunch!! :whistling:Don't worry we're normally at the back of the field. But the Adventure riders and that Knox fellow won't have a thing to eat when they get to Nandos.

CleatsnCleavage Posted March 27, 2015 Share My boyfriend is doing Joberg2C and then Sani2C with me, so I was comparing the routes now and I am confused. IF the last 3 days of both races are the same, then why do the 2 websites give different total ascents? (I am obsessed with knowing how much climbing awaits me in all my races). The Joberg2C website has more climbing listed, are they just trying to not scare the Sani pansies? http://joberg2c.co.za/ride-details/the-route/http://www.sani2c.co.za/DisplayLink.aspx?group=Race%20Details&name=The%20Route Anyone have an answer? In my experience the websites have been inaccurate and last year's Garmin readings were pretty much the same as the year before except for Day 3, thanks to the route change it turned out to be less. Don't forget that depending on the type altimeter used (Barometric vs GPS) you will get different readings which could explain the difference on the websites. The readings Iabove are using Barometric pressure which is considered to be more accurate but also not exact.

flymango Posted April 2, 2015 Share Thanks. Bit more than I expected. Will just go through the schlep of boxing the bike myself. Just a word of advice - DON'T put CO2 bombs in with your bike on the plane (assuming you're flying). There's a fair chance it will not get loaded. Also, make sure you make proper arrangements with the airline. Each year I hear of guys whose bikes stay behind either because there's not enough space and/or too much weight. From there it's a logistical nightmare, especially if you've booked the bus and don't have your own wheels.
