patches Posted July 4, 2014 Share I read post #1, that was significantly different - it does not state in there that you forfeit your vote if you click view on results. Generally when you CHANGE something as drastically as putting new little things over selection buttons, for those that generally don't think twice about voting or looking at votes cast, you click on the button's location. It's a change in how any poll is presented on this whole forum, you need to SPELL it out. So having "View Results (Null Vote)" written on the very button you clicked, doesn't spell it out? I dunno about everyone else, but when warning prompts or installation T&Cs pop up on my screen, I'll admit I don't carefully read the text... but I do read which button I am going to click. Disylizzy Posted July 4, 2014 Share So having "View Results (Null Vote)" written on the very button you clicked, doesn't spell it out? You're obviously missing my point - when you're used to clicking on something multiple times you won't think twice about clicking it and not really read/comprehend if there is a change to something when as far as what you know it hasn't changed. Especially if you're like me when I go on the hub, work, take phone calls, talk to people in the office, so I'm already only giving the hub 25% of my attention at most. And if Admin made the change, then I'm going to take a wild guess I wasn't the only one dumb enough to do it.
Matt Posted July 4, 2014 Share The closing time for votes today has also been extended by 2 hours from 12h00 to 14h00 today to account for the site downtime this morning. @ Patches (& Disylizzy): Disylizzy wasn't alone in assuming the View results feature worked as per usual (i.e. you can still vote after). For that reason and because it was not 'announced' as such we've removed any null votes cast thus far. However going forward if you choose to view the results before voting there's no second chance. Multiple times as in once a month? or are you one of those sneaky ones that has used multiple accounts to vote?! I get what you're saying though... we don't all read the fine print. I too nearly clicked the "View Results" before voting Edited July 4, 2014 by patches

I get what you're saying though... we don't all read the fine print. I too nearly clicked the "View Results" before voting Unfortunately I don't have time for multiple personalities, I barely have time to deal with one sometimes. And multiple times as in, being on the hub for a few years now, there's been more than one poll that I've cast my vote in and/or just looked at the results out of curiosity
Squier Posted July 4, 2014 Share I do believe this changes things for the better. This makes it more about the photo and less about the popularity of the hubber who posted the photo. Nico, I get your point. My point is, you wouldn't have won and it has nothing to do with your photo. nathrix

Stretch Posted July 4, 2014 Share Hi Disylizzy, Perhaps it should have been made more clear. We'll remove any null votes cast thus far, but to be clear for any others still to vote: going forward viewing the results before casting a vote will mean a null vote. Thanks,Matt I also read it that i could view results and then cast my vote later...anyway...i tried to vote again and it said that I had already voted...so null votes have not been removed yet

Stretch Posted July 4, 2014 Share So having "View Results (Null Vote)" written on the very button you clicked, doesn't spell it out? Well actually null (nhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/ubreve.gifl)adj.1. Having no legal force; invalid: render a contract null and void.2. Of no consequence, effect, or value; insignificant.3. Amounting to nothing; absent or non existent: a null result. So Amounting to nothing absent or non existent in my book means the vote will not happen...so yes it does spell it out to me that I will get a chance to vote

I took it as "press this button and it will cast a vote that has no effect or value"... ie. a null vote. But yeah, some ambiguity I guess. Anyway, Admin has now clearly explained what that button does, and has promised the chance for those who misunderstood to still have their say. Shebeen Posted July 4, 2014 Share The process is much better now, all great shots! Would however be nice if you can see all the months pictures in one place after the draw is finalised. nathrix, Matt and Peach.
Peach. Posted July 4, 2014 Share The closing time for votes today has also been extended by 2 hours from 12h00 to 14h00 today to account for the site downtime this morning. I don't understand why if thehub was down early this am that the voting time needs to be extended, voters still had 4 hours to vote after thehub was running again.
