Who remembers?

Not naughty, I wish it was that simple. My devices were relocated by one of our brethren and I can't remember my Gmail or Bikehub passwords due to goldfish memory syndrome. Recovery is nigh impossible so from scratch we shall begin. Lucky I'm not in the market for any items in the classifieds :)

Welcome (back) fishy one. It will be interesting to see if you get the Noob type of answers.

we gave this tv away the other day. You either had the radio positioned on the top of the tv....or.....you had a larney tv that had the radio built in

Maybe a "which bike for a newbie" or "epic vs camber" thread is in order.. :)

So i decided i needed a better "aerial" for my radio like this one. I made it out of multiple pieces of copper wire twisted at the joins. It ran out my bedroom window and across the roof. I swore I could get all sorts of radio stations on SW and LW frequencies but mostly it was feedback.

The fact it didn't get struck by lightning and blow me and the whole radio  to bits is a minor miracle.

For the joburgers.attachicon.gifimage.jpeg

Who remembers these?

Been walking past them daily for like 10 years...

They put up new cameras facing them a few months back after some @#$%'ers broke off and stole 2 legs.

who remembers.....learning about this chickie.....

rachel-de-beer.jpg

She never actually existed, was the figment of someones imagination...the others were all true though.

The truth behind her non-existence was questioned and eventually verified through research, genealogy. The actual point of her "story" was pinpointed to a 1926 story/fictional writing of Eugene Marais, it was a piece he wrote for the then Huisgenoot.

Is that a fact? I remember there was doubt over the validity of the story...just amazed if that is the case that they have not renamed rachel de beer street or rachel de beer school to something else

Yes, fact.

Was quite an interesting story on RSG Radio about it and how it all went wrong. I'll search for that podcast tonight and pass it on.

It was actually a genealogist who found the problem and exposed it as incorrect.

I was at varsity when TV started in SA, so by the time I actually started watching TV, I had to buy my own.

On R400 a month!!!!

So M-Net, when it arrived, was an ABSOLUTE luxury.
