After 70km of racing, the gap has risen to close to 4:00.

It will be interesting to see who will lead the chase and if Alberto Contador is willing to let the leader's jersey go.

The Katusha team is leading the peloton to control the breakaway. By placing Rovny in the move, Contador's Tinkoff-Saxo team do not have to do any work today.

What? Sky were the only team on the juice? Please!

Not necessarily, but not history have shown that all doping programs are not equal. (US Postal...)

Quintana “feels pain in his right-hand shoulder and has been moved by ambulance to a medical center to check on any fractures,” Movistar said on their Twitter feed.

TV images showed Quintana lying on the side of the road, looking groggy but able to speak, with Movistar mechanics and sports directors surrounding him. However, as he touched his shoulder repeatedly, it was clear the injuries were worse than in yesterday’s crash. A few minutes later he clambered carefully into a race ambulance, his Vuelta a España over.

6 km to go and Froome has just gone out the back of the leading bunch

IMO..the way Froome got dropped and kept coming back and then to the front of the group just seems unnatural to me.
