I would also have thought that by now they would have camera angles sorted. Wasn't overly impressed with the overall coverage. Especially for a Red Bull event.

Agree...you couldnt even see the rider behind that one section at all...every time they took the one line.

I am just amazed how much progress the riders have made in 1 year.

Last year only 2 dudes (if I remember correctly) hit the 73 foot canyon gap.....

Now they're hitting it like it aint no thang :w00t:

Canyon gap you say??.... I think I'll just front flip it!!

I can easily see why one big trick can ramp your score as its very likely you can tick categories 1,2 and 3 for the one trick. Its theoretically a maximum of 25 points per category, so like cam's first 360 off the Oakley Icon sender back in 2012 IIRC, he probably maxed out all cats 1 to 3. It backs my sentiment that Rheeder should've killed it in scoring on aggregate as Lacondeguy's run was bereft of the variety of tricks he is so well known for. Watching the FESS series, I really thought he was going to unleash similar levels of jawdropping tricks during his rampage runs, especially his second run. I wanted to kick him off the side of the mountain for not hitting his second run!

Interesting to see how many riders are using Boxxers.

A few years ago the Boxxer was seen more as DH race fork than a big-mountain fork, and the Fox 40 was for the freeriders. Judging by the Rampage and WC DH bike line-ups, it seems the roles have reversed.

Also interesting to note that 1st and 2nd were relying on narrow-wides and clutch RDs alone. Not even a top guide.

I noticed that last night too. It seems crazy to me TBH as dropping a chain in them hills can have serious consequences.

I also noticed that most riders ride with Boxxers and on the WC they are using the Fox, that is really intresting, would like to know why. I also noticed that more freerides are sponsored by/ride with SRAM/RockShox than Shimano and Fox.

He should have done a second run but I think he was so stressed out that he would have messed up somewhere on it.

Also thought the judging was a bit dodgy. AL was not 5% better than BS and BR. Those two handle it all - big mountain with lots of tricks. That said, AL was very smooth, perfect landings and that big drop he and Aggy did was off the charts - if he had tricked that, what would his score have been? Which is my point.
