Brandon knew that testosterone is a banned substance. He also knew that if he wants to take the treatment AND keep on racing he needed a TUE. The TUE was never approved and he started taking the treatment AND kept on racing. That in my book is breaking the rules.

I cannot say that SAIDS did their work competently or not, but from what I have read here it certainly does not look like they know what they are doing.

The fact of the matter is that if he wanted to keep on racing he should have waited for the TUE before starting the treatment. If the treatment could not be postponed then he had to stop racing and received treatment. By not waiting for the TUE and taking the banned substance(even though he declared it all along) AND keeping on racing, is where he screwed himself...

HOW many times does he have to tell you that he was under the impression that it was OK, SINCE he was TOLD by the women that it is ok????

If you called the authority and asked what to do and they said "cool go ahead and in the mean time"

Then you believe you can do it while awaiting......TUE???

And of course he has written confirmation or a recording of said correspondence....

If its the pool guy it will be the second last wood he gets, the next wood he gets will be the cricket bat across his temple

As long as you make it sound like gun shots, you should have a defense if he doesn't survive the beating

One thing I have learned in my life is that if its not on black and white it never happened...

I have read all the posts in this thread and what you mention here is a big part of SAIDS's incompetence. They screwed up, Brandon screwed up but in the end the party with the most power will always win. In this case it is SAIDS...

Yes and yes and yes, but here is the story as explained.

Firstly, testosterone is a banned substance if your levels test over a prescribed percentage, other than that it can be used as a medical usage to help athletes and ninjas to live the life they are supposed to.

He applied for TUE and the tannie over the phone told him all was good and the processes are in place.

He then carried on racing, also knowing he could be tested at any given time, this gives me an indication that he felt he had nothing to hide and that if he returned positive test, he could refer to the documentation in place and his alibi , the tannie on the other end of the line.

This is the sole reason he carried on racing, he felt he was being honest and transparent.

At this stage I see Brando guilty of two things, firstly a sheer desperation to live a normal life and feel complete as a man, and secondly he is guilty of being gullible and taking a random persons word as gospel.

Lesson learn, albeit a hard lesson.

I got that the first time, but when it is your livelihood you ensure that the process has run it's course and you have the paperwork in your possession before you proceed.

Anything else is bordering on the wrong side of reckless and leads one to suspect that there is more to the story than contained in your question.

Imagine that SAIDS was SARS - does that answer your question?

Yes, BS has had his 15 minutes of fame.

How can you call someone a doper when he declared that he is taking the stuff for MEDICAL REASONS?

Have you read the thread? Look for the part where BS admits he cocked it up (pun intended).

Pardon me for being sceptical, just about every professional cyclist who tests positive has a excuse / reason

Looks like he did.

You should try it.

Yes, lets start wrapping this thread up huh? From what I read there was negligence of the rules, but not a clear intent to dope/cheat, and thanks to Brandon for coming on here and engaging.

Lesson to be learnt is there is no margin for misunderstandings and unsuccinct communications when it comes to anything to do with drugs of any form and sport, the bureaucrats will bust you without any compassion.

Exactly

Wonder why the TUE was not approved in the first place?

I actually quite like this HUB story.... Hopefully I can become a champion Hubber... At least I can try be a champ at something....

I think you will find that mostly hubbers are a fairly friendly and mutually supportive bunch - and they do good works from time to time - if you search around a bit you will find that out, and you will find out there are other convicted dopers here who contributed their stories and who have not been excommunicated completely. :) There is also a long thread on using legal doping.... coffee... that should keep you occupied for a while....
