Some advice please.

I have the Epic comp with the std 2x10 Sram crankset.

For me to convert to a 1x10 would this work?

Also what spacers and bolts would i need?

Thanks

Evobikes is running a special on a FRM NW ring with the 40T cassette adaptor for R1795.

Which is a great deal.

Think you may need shorter chainring bolts. Otherwise just mount the ring where your big ring is and go ride.

Just make sure that the BCD of the chainring matches the BCD of your crank. The cassette adapter will work but I like the OneUp Components one because it comes with a 16t ring as well. It is a bit of a wait if you order from OneUp though.

No. You would need an X01 crank to mount that chainring to and as far as I know won't work with a 10 speed chain either. Also I believe if you plan on adding the 42 adapter to your cassette you will probably need to change to a long cage derailleur as the epic comes in a medium cage and shifting on the 42t is not nearly as smooth. Your chain rings will need to be 104 BCD like so:

As long as the ring has the correct BCD for the crank, any crank should work just fine.

Any feedback on the Rapide NW?

Been running a Rapide NW for a couple of months now, strong, solid and no chain drop.

To the OP, you will need short chainring bolts for the front chainring as you are going to a single chainring up front

You should be able to use the same bolts on a 2x10 crank. It is only with a 3x9 crank that you will need shorter bolts as the bolts are longer to hold the big ring and the middle ring.

You dont "need" a 40T/42T cassette adapter

I use a Rapide 36T up front with a 11-34 cassette and I dont struggle too much

Just make sure you have a 104BCD crank and you're good to go, also, if you want to go for the Rapide Ring, DO NOT use shorter bolts, the Rapide ring is 6mm thick where as the other brands are only 4mm

On the chain side, no need for a new chain, just shorten your current one like so:

I should add, as soon as finances allow it I would love a 11-36 cassette
