I have a 100mm Reda on my Contraband. Just not sure I would enjoy a rigid. More than happy. It can handle whatever I throw at it so very happy.

Consider the OP wants a trail bike and the you can convert the reba to 120 with a spacer adjustment I would go with that...great fork yea ol reba

I see myself buying 2 forks in the near future.... I'll definitely start with the Reba. I'm not sure I'm hard enough for rigid just yet.

Hairy, why can a trail Bike not be rigid?

Well now .... any bike can ride on a trail. A trail bike though is a slightly different animal to "any bike" in that you want a slightly slacker HA (Not crazy slack on a trail bike) and you want a bit more suspension as the intention of a trail bike to attack the trail with more speed and aggression than that "any bike".

 

You really can not get through a rock garden at speed on a rigid like you can on a bike with a 120mm-140mm fork....but you could possibly navigate through the rock garden if you have the skills on a rigid fork. That speed you carry is extremely valuable on a SS.

I for one am glad I went for a suspension for on my SS, have really enjoyed rigid bikes in the past, but with SS I reckon if you're going to suggest going up you may as well have some fum coming down and like Hairy said, momentum is your best friend

 

in fact I think its time to bump my 100mm to 120mm travel....

Thank goodness this is a trail bike then, riding your bike UP the hill will be interesting if you went with the new 1 x 0 drive.
