You should always meet and greet. You never know who you are talking to. Cycling is the new golf and those boepensie-carbonbike-dirt roadies are most likely the okes you need to impress at your next presentation. :)

.......it is all in the detail.......observant are we?

I must however say when I ride with my neon-green oversized Maxxed t-shirt the okes seem a bit more friendly. I specifically wear this t-shirt when riding shotgun at the rear and tacking up space during my SO and SIL's training rides.

That's it. Next time I'm in Camp's Bay, I'm going to sit at Vida and greet every damn cyclist who comes past, or in, or to the toilet, or next door, or round the corner.

What's most important is to do the right thing that represents your value system and NOT really expect others to do the same.

Some folks just don't greet... It's kinda weird, but who am I to truly judge a stranger.

Different strokes for different folks.

What matters to me though if I am in technical trouble and a fellow cyclist pass me without enquiring whether I need assistance.

There is an unwritten rule in the Cyclist Ethical Handbook for THAT.

+1000

Good mood, bad mood, rain, sunshine, your side of the road or not... If someone looks like they need help, ask.   Even if they don't look like they need help, ASK!!!

Well said Dale

I am glad to say that when stopped I have ALWAYS been asked when passed...

I know it's not Friday yet but this has been bugging me the whole week. After starting training on Klapperkop Monday morning, and ev-yawn yawn snip snip-saying hi to everyone

Ag honestly, just get over it.

I'm a roadie and everyone either gets a finger wave, smile, nod or hello. Even the runners.

I got bored of the bike one day so pulled on the old running shoes and went for a jog. Middle of my run and this roadie is cycling towards me with this big smile on his face like he's having the time of his life. I don't know why but I just had the urge to high five him so I stuck out my hand and the oke gave me a big pie eating grin and a high five. The rest of my run felt like everything was right with the world.

Other than that, do you greet others in the shopping mall as you walk past them or hoot at every motorist on the road?

:-P

Land Rover owners do.

It's sweet.

Better than rude roadies not greeting at all. Life is too short to be a grumbleguts. That's what work is for :whistling:

No I dont, but when I am motor racing I greet the other racers that I see as my community just like I do when I cycle,
