Strava made me dope!

Hey it depends on the individual. I certainly pushed myself above and beyond to protect a KOM, but it was on a downhill segment.

 

Strava has nothing to do with it - its a great community tool.  I have discovered more routes and seen more of what my mates are doing on there than ever before. 

 

Its the people behind it. You see, if you give an idiot an AK47 and he will kill someone. Its not the guns fault. Its just being a gun.

I get Kudos from people I am not following or who does not follow me. Once even a dude in the states....creepy...

 

Yep, I'm not big on privacy settings but nowadays the weirdest random people are starting to follow me (on strava) and giving me kudos (for slow recovery rides)

It's actually being turned into a more competitive platform. A few months ago, i noticed an "Amped2Race" group that name a segment each month, and whoever gets KOM in that month wins stuff from them.

Stalking.....a bit like my ride this after noon, riding into a hard headwind I passed a guy on the road. Five kays later I realised he had tucked in lekker tight behind me drafting. He had said nothing the whole time, and I had not heard him because the wind was howling in my ears. Even after I noticed him, and we had said hi, he still drafted for the next ten kays.
