Cajees Fourways - worst of the worst

Important points to note before visiting Cajees Fourways, for those who somehow don't yet know...

1. Do not bother phoning them - it will either be the wrong channel, a non-existant number, engaged, or ring indefinitely.

2. Their shop is dark and cluttered - if you can't find what you're looking for, they most likely won't be able to either.

3. Some stock is displayed on shelves, the rest lies on the floor. Be careful not to stand on a bottle cage and then have to pay for it.

4. If you can't find someone to help you, look outside - that's where they sit smoking most of the time.

5. Do not take your time looking at their products - they will be suspicious and humiliate you by asking to check your bag - "Sure," I said, "Do you think I'm stealing from your shop?" to which he replied "Yes, I do." Unfortunately he made an idiot of himself and lost yet another customer, this time permanently.

6. Everything is much more expensive than everywhere else, and usually still a rip-off when they've kindly discounted you.

I like them. Good honest service and the best prices around. Always willing to give discount. Bike services are also top notch.

I've had generally good experiences with the guys at Cajees.

Bought a pair of Louis Garneau shoes recently. Pricing was about R 100 more expensive than other shops, but they had my size, so I bought the shoes.

They are very shrewd sales people - they'll stalk you while you browse and then offer you "amazing discounts" on stuff you were checking out, but not actually planning on buying.

I walk in there recently and receive absolutely no assistance what so ever. When I eventually found someone who worked there (Not the easiest thing to do in that shop) and asked for help all I got was a look like I had just crawled out from a piece of cheese.

-1 customer for life.

.........and yet their service is still better than certain shop down the road, they still have more components than some shop down the road and they are also cheaper than certain shop down the road  (after negotiation, their way of doing business I suppose). They aren't the best but they sure aren't that bad. (Okay they earned some brownie points having a hanger in stock for my Silverback Shift 1.0)

Go to Solomons, or Cycle Tech or Summit cycles if you want some better service.

+1, like that guy from Neils/neels Wheels. If he does not have it for sale, he always delivers with the things I'm looking for at the best price

Some people say they like the place, others say they won't go near it -  that in itself is particularly telling.

I find the place messy, dusty and dirty. While there might be some bargains, some stuff is also WAY overpriced. Sometimes they're friendly and other times they're short, gruff and rude.

Point is - I won't go near the place because, although I might have a good experience, there is also a good chance that I will have a bad experience. Why risk it? Besides, the place is a mess.

I'd rather go to the shop down the road that is clean, neat and tidy and where I have NEVER had bad service.

Ja, exactly. Might take a day or three for his "'Agents" to source the product. But worth the wait.
