I am lucky to be able to post this myself. Me and my training partners were hit from behind by a suspected drunk driver in the yellow line just outside Stellenbosch this morning. Of cause the driver did not slow down or stop. According to the drivers that were driving behind him he was al over the road.

I am very lucky to be alive. Suffered 2 broken ribs, hairline crack in the pelvis, deep cut on the back of the head and mangled ligaments in my right leg.

Bike a total wreck. Luckily he just clipped the rider behind me. I wasn't so lucky and was hit solidly from behind.

I just want to thank Niel(motorist) that stopped and assisted also Frank that were riding with us for keeping a cool head. Also the ER medics, you were awesome . Thanks.

Healing vibes to you. This is now getting ridiculous......what do cyclist need to do?

Solution might be more difficult for the roadies, risks are greater. I am not a roadie, but now I will attach my 1000 lumens light to my seat facing the rear whenever venturing it on tar with the MTB. I can handle sheet attitude and comments from peed-off drivers.......maybe even put it on that irritatimg flashimg mode. Might help putting some drivers into an acute brain spasm attack.
