Good day Hubbers.

This topic may have been discussed or answered previously, but please quickly inform me...

What is the correct etiquette or procedure to follow once a sale is successfully completed in the classifieds?

1. Do I simply delete the ad?

2. Do I write a little comment stating the item was sold?

3. Do I change the Title and add "SOLD"?

What would be the acceptable thing to do?

I must be a *** buyer and seller because I hardly ever get any feedback, even if I rate the seller.  Failing which, I delete my rating of the seller.

I haven't sold much but when I do sell something I ask the buyer to please go and leave a rating based on their experience

Always Mark as sold and also if the items are on hold pending payment.

I leave the add up as I have often referred to sold adds and I also wonder what happened to a for same item that just got removed with no notification given

Delete (option provided)

Reflecting SOLD is adding clutter, I reckon.

Disagree.

If someone was looking at buying the item it creates confusion when the item can't be found.

I reckon that it's courteous to change the ad to sold, then after 2-3 days delete the advert.

Yes, I know it's pretty obvious the item has been sold, but one has to search to find it, only to realise it's gone

Would be awesome if admin could add time-delay delete. so click delete and it adds -sold, then 2 days later removes AD automatically. I haven't sold anything but i have bought a lot on hub and you don't need ad to provide feedback just go to the sellers market page and click provide feedback. AD id is not required for the feedback :)

What do you want? Remove or Add, you can't do both automatically simultaneously?

Good point. In the past I've simply deleted my ad if the item was no longer available, I'll do that in future.

Point in question was earlier this week I had my eye on a Fox 150mm fork which I spent quite a while going through the suspension ads trying to find it. Often the items aren't sold, but the seller takes the ad off for some reason. After I sms'd the seller (luckily I found his number on another advert) he told me the fork had been sold.

All that could've been avoided if the status had been changed to "sold"

I mark it as sold once a potential buyer has confirmed till he/she pays. If he/she backs out of the deal then all I have to is remove the word sold from the title.
