Say five ads for free at any one time but the system won't allow you to place more than that without contributing financially. I'd be happy with that.I'm sure that people using the classified as regular humans wouldn't be selling more than a few things at a time, and if they are then group them all together in one ad as many people already do.

It shouldnt be a free place for companies to advertise in bulk if they dont support bikehub.

I don't really mind the ads but what is really annoying is an ad for something that the retailer doesn't even have in stock yet! "oh here is an insane new bike...BUT we don't know how much it will cost or the specs but we just going to place an "ad" for it anyway!" Seems pointless!
