OK, entered.

This looks like a route that could seriously hurt, but there is only one way to get fitter and lose weight this year, and that's by hitting those hills.

I find riding hill snacks gently works pretty well.

P.S. does anyone know where the name "hill snacks" comes from?

There used to be a road-house/café at the top of the section before the dip. On the right where that "dead" car is mounted. It was called "Hill Snacks" It closed down loooong ago but the cycling community all remember it as the "hill-snacks" hill. 25 years ago when I was young(er) it was my stock training hill and since I started cycling again a couple of years back, it has once again become that.

Yip thats exactly where it comes from. The old road house is now a wedding/function venue. Mount Usambara.

Has this race date moved or has the serengeti date moved. I don't remember them being same weekend last year. Although I do remember another big race out of joburg on the same day as berge en dale. Who is in for doing both this and serengeti?

Ride for Sight is a good indication of your Argus time, so although it may be a flat(ish) race to prepare for the Argus, it does assist mentally with an expected time.

Ride for Sight is too flat to be good training for Argus.  Rather do B en D.

My ride for sight and argus time have always been about 1 minute apart so its a good indicator as to what time you'll do. Bar mechanical or excessive wind. its also 3/4 weeks before CTCT(argus) so cant really get much more training done.
