I want to build a single speed on a budget looking for chinese carbon frame and the other bits.

I recently rode my mates single speed, and really enjoyed it.

Id like to try build a nice one but on a tighter budget.

 

Where can i find a chinese carbon frame , not a dodge one (or are they all dodge?)

Looking to build it as light as i can .

I currently hav a set of wheels, so looking for the rest of the bike in parts

seen a few items in the classifieds, but where else is a good place to start looking ?

What size wheels you have might help with getting further info regarding frames and forks? Just a thought .....

How about a proper single speed frame from Soma? Much better than using a chain tensioner on a frame with vertical drop outs.

If you are on a tight budget.... then forget carbon and see what fits your budget.

 

You might also consider steel frame, especially if you go rigid fork

He may not be as heavy as you so plastic carbon should be fine

For 12k excluding wheels you have many options. Look at On-One, Surly, Momsen or Soma. Get a second hand crankset, brakes and fork (this should not be more than about 4-5k). That still leaves you with 7-8k for a frame.

There was a Momsen Str 29 in the classifieds last week I think. Might be worthwhile trolling through the classifieds and enquire whether it's still available. Can't remember the asking price, but it was a good deal.
