Damn, didn't even consider the UK VAT rate. Thanks for that armpies.

*runs back to the drawing board*

Edit: 20% VAT - bloody hell!

Yip, you will see that my original quote was a good offer

Reba is where it's at.

If you need a price, let me know.

I know the new stock is landing this week .

Please pm me a price on that fork. I need a 120mm or 140mm for my hardtail. Cheers

True, sheriff.

I'm trying to stretch my budget to include new rims, so I'm very volkak about what fork I'll be getting.

Hi, guys and gals.

It's finally time for me to pull the trigger and get a new fork and I'd like all my esteemed fellow Hubbers to give their 2c.

I'm basically looking for a 29er fork with a 15mm TA and 120mm of travel, for mostly XC riding, but must also be able to handle more aggressive trails. I've narrowed down my options to the following:

  • X Fusion Trace RL2;
  • Marzocchi 320LR;
  • Manitou Minute Expert; and
  • RS Reba RL Solo Air.

The Reba is probably the most sensible choice, with the others being a bit left field, but all of them have good reviews.

Your thoughts?

I'n not a Guru, but why not look at the RS Recon Gold 120mm if you are in a budget? I am more than happy with mine. And she sure does take a beating.

I'll rather sacrifice 20mm of travel and get the Reba RLT, which has superior damping to the Recon Gold.

Sorry for the hijack - I'm getting some movement between my stanchion & lower legs on my 29" Reba RL - from what I have read, this equates to a complete lower leg replacement as opposed to just a bushing change - can any of you fork guru's advise if this is correct??

Any fork can be adapted to give 10mm or take away 10mm of travel from the origianal travel,and the shock is made to do this,you just take out/put in another internal spacer

Can you make my 140mm Revelation a 150mm??

This will be good.

think its the same principal

Not to nitpick but at first you said ANY fork then THINK IT'S ... just confusing to me at least :blush:

I've read that the X Fusion is quite plush and has good performance, but it doesn't seem to be heavy on the tech, when compared to the RS.

The Motion Control damper on the Reba sounds quite appealing, but don't know if it's just marketing fluff.

"not heavy on the tech" is a good thing. Most of the features on others forks you only set once and then you leave it there. People who fiddle too much end up on forums bitching about forks that don't work

just saying...

I don't fiddle.  There's a saying that goes: "fiddle, fiddle, f@cked!"

My Epicon works slightly differently. You take out a pin and adjust the stop. Its in 20mm (80-140mm) increments. I think I read that someone took a chance and drilled out another hole and made his 160mm.

That's actually pretty cool way of adjusting the travel.

Edit: Who are the agents for Suntour in SA? The 2015 Epixon TR 130mm looks like a good value proposition fork.
