John seems to have stopped.........

ja. he stopped at the turn off to the observatory(the actual telescopes on top of a very big hill). spent 30 mins there, so close to the race village, mechanical?

could definitely find some students to ride a motorbike and keep tabs on the various riders..let us know things...why is john stopped..rest or mechanical...is amy having a problem...she has slowed to a crawl..or is she just spent...etc etc

Bugger the students, I want to see the action first hand next year.

Agree, alter the route a bit every year and get more tweets/photos out.

Much like the cape epic there is no way I'll ever have enough disposable money to enter this race. And I'm not the sort to actually get sponsorship I'm just in it for the giggles really not ever going to be serious racing contender.

I'm in the same boat. The entry fee for this is just silly. Luckily Massive Adventures runs similar races of varying distances for a nominal entry fee. I'll be looking there in the near future ....

ive done small 24 hours for fun nothing serious, all i say is when i tried to sleep my body laughed at me,,,too much energy goodies, too much adrenaline, so i wash up change kit and go play, otherwise i tend to just lie there going "you got to sleep,,,,you got to ride,,you got to sleep"

24 is probably too short to get tired enough?

At RASA the riders tweet into the race office every now and again.  They automatically retweeted these, and everyone else's comments as well. Even if the riders are too busy riding to tweet, then maybe just setting up something that retweets everything with the #Munga2015 hashtag may already give more insights.

There also was daily updates and insights - John Loos were brilliant with those.

Looks like #JohnNtuli is catching some sleep at WP8. So close to Race Village 4...hmmm?

ja, seems fishy to me, but what they could do is add the WP to the map route too.

also, you need the rider icons to explode out when they are on top of each other.

Who is going to be at the finish line tomorrow? It would be cool if there were a big crowd to cheer the winner over the line.

couple beers, camp chair...

Those are brilliant events - If they could use THIS tracking system, then it would be WIN! Problem is a system like this one is probably more expensive ... that would probably be passed on to the riders ...

Hannele Steyn is about 70 km behind Hanlie Booyens. That's after a 140 km detour. She can still catch her ... GO Hannele!!

Hannele Steyn is moving again

Go Catch Them!!!

If I was GU I would wait for JN to arrive at the race village and leave as he gets there. This leaves JN with two choices either keep going without rest or rest knowing that with every minute of rest the gap increases.
