Found this on Vasbyt (blue graded route) this morning. I handed in at security. Security will contact me to give rightful owner a @#$@#/ at collection. Let us keep our mountain clean. A real mountain biker does not litter and ride black graded trails.

Sadly, not the first time. I've seen bombs, tubes and all manner of things left there...

I know and that is what irritated me so much. Also saw a guy coming over the bar on his way down. He looked rattled. Falling in tokai is expected not littering.

See the size, should give an example of the kind of tjop we dealing with... [emoji87]

But some hubbers think its okay to leave tubes lying around - apparently some disadvantaged commuter will ride passed there and be eternally grateful for the free tube.

Yeah I've seen peeps hanging their punctured tubes over the crash barrier on Victoria Drive on my morning rides too. It takes nothing for me to stop and take the tube home and patch it so why leave it behind? Plus cycling is meant to be green!

Fact of the matter is those old tubes are really gold to some poor people. In Botswana they use them for all kinds of things so we always hung them on a tree at or near a village. They were gratefully received

But this is not Botswana! this is a trail in Tokai that costs R60 to gain access to.

No poor commuter will be riding Vasbyt on his way to work, if Bluokrans (or another eco-friendly rider) had not bothered picked it up it would still be there in 100 years time.

And this was not hung on a tree this was just chucked into the bushes.

It's been said before, put it in your pocket and either physically give it to a poor commuter or leave it on top of your bin on garbage day. That way you can do your deed for humanity without polluting pristine singletrack.
