DJR Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Took this picture to show fellow cyclists what it really looks like when the Southeaster is blowing! Found some racing pigeons walking home along the west coast road, trying to hitch a ride on Saturday afternoon. Remember, the wind makes you strong! Embrace it!
SeaBee Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Getting soft here, DJR... those lamp poles still look like they're upright!
BDF Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 If it looks like that in Cape Town, Imagine what it must be like at Gordon's Bay!
J∆kk∆ls Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 The Cape Dr. has been greeting me almost every morning as I head over Suikerbossie into Hout Bay. Thinking about way to make my bike heavier
Winstonian1984 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Who needs LA's doctor to increase performance when we have the Cape Doctor.
Mopkop Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 The Dr is working overtime..must of rested quite nicely this festive season

SwissVan Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I wish you had taken a pic of the racing pigeons hitching....
DJR Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 I wish you had taken a pic of the racing pigeons hitching....Man, I saw something rustling in the long grass on the road shoulder, my first thought was "racing snake", but no, there they were, racing pigeons, walking back home rather than risking getting blown to Robben Island or worse, with their ankle rings going klink-klink like they were in jail! Poor things.
Guest DieBees Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 When I was still up in Gauteng we used to all book off for the day if there was just a hint of a winde blowing. Cycling in the wind was a NO NO. Now it is part of life for me. Thank God I got used to it. The wind is my hills here where we stay.
Boerklong Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Its been too windy and hot around here but from tomorrow I must HTFU and start riding my bike again. Been 2 months now
Guest DieBees Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Its been too windy and hot around here but from tomorrow I must HTFU and start riding my bike again. Been 2 months nowWas it because of the wind?
intern Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Lived in Hout Bay for a year, that effing wind used to blow straight into our front door. Couldn't handle it...was easier to move to New Zealand than to Cape Town, the weather in the mother city is truly ***!
Boerklong Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Was it because of the wind? the last week yes, but the other 7 might have been lazy, sleg, brandy drinking and beer guzzling related
