Remind me of my crazy skateboarding days

Daring the traffic

Yikes, that was 25 years ago

Maybe another similar activity would be Free-running / Parkour.

With no intention of stirring the pot but this is probably better organised than the jhb critical mass. At least there are marshals. CM breaks the rules of the road and it piss' off plenty residents and drivers.

My reference to Jesus is that I understand him to have never sinned, such a faultless position numerous of you hubbers seem to think you are in.

What I find a bit disconcerting is the reprimand being handed out. If the reprimand is for putting our lives at risk then hey, anything can happen to anyone anytime anywhere. If the reprimand is for putting other peoples lives at risk then get real, we on bicycles. If the reprimand is for breaking the rules of the road then I can say without a doubt that you are sanctimonious hypocrites. as I am certain that every one of you has in the past and will in the future, either talk or text on a phone while driving, exceed the legal speed limit or even turn without indicating, all of which put your own life and other peoples lives at risk.

So rather leave your judgement aside and share in the excitement and adrenal of the race.

None of the above, its the damage being done to the already shitty reputation of cyclists.

So if someone has to slam on brakes in their car to avoid hitting one of the JH riders and in turn causes an accident- injuring or killing someone in the process- would you still say that you guys cause no harm to anyone but yourselves?

You put forward a very well written and convincing argument.

You did however manage to leave out those motorists that have a total disregard for road rules, other vehicles, the law, pedestrians and the last thought on their minds, some other cyclist with "skills" and "balls of steel"

But then again, the cellphone usage argument is within the lines of what you wrote .

Took only 40 seconds to realize this is why motorists hate cyclists.

Dumbasses.
