Another insane Jozi Hustle race

My reference to Jesus is that I understand him to have never sinned, such a faultless position numerous of you hubbers seem to think you are in.

What I find a bit disconcerting is the reprimand being handed out. If the reprimand is for putting our lives at risk then hey, anything can happen to anyone anytime anywhere. If the reprimand is for putting other peoples lives at risk then get real, we on bicycles. If the reprimand is for breaking the rules of the road then I can say without a doubt that you are sanctimonioushypocrites. as I am certain that every one of you has in the past and will in the future, either talk or text on a phone while driving, exceed the legal speed limit or even turn without indicating, all of which put your own life and other peoples lives at risk.

So rather leave your judgement aside and share in the excitement and adrenal of the race.

Just because people break the law does not justify further intentional transgressions, and what is even more sillier is recording and bragging about it online.

Hell it's so silly it would not even rate as s Darwin award candidate if (heaven forbid) one of the participants killed themselves.....

Some enjoy it, others don't. Personally I love the hustle, brilliant communication between the riders, you can hear them shout watch left in the video, traffic lights gets blocked off when/if its safe, if its not you stop. Weaving between the traffic aka lane splitting gets done by motorcycles and taxis too.

The riders shown here are the top race snakes, the slower paced guys follow the same rulles as the CM

I can't believe you got away with this comment??!

How on earth you slipped the    "critical mass"    reference passed the hub justice system leaves me gobsmacked -  better yet, they end up being called hypocrites??

The CM is not just some night ride with rules.. HAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

I don't understand.

A video is posted on the hub about the hustle, and wer are not allowed to make negative comment, and call it for what it is?

Then why post it?

The argument of " two wrongs make it right", is always a good one. Like my 8 year old with his brother.

Tough call this one - I really dig the New York bike messenger hyper fast fixie style racing but don't reckon this is the best advert for bicycle riders - especially at the moment where our relationship with drivers isn't very good.

It would be cool to make it all safe and official like but that would destroy the ethos of the event.

In conclusion....I reckon it's silly.
