You started the thread about whether riding like a **** is controversial. Why are you now obsessing about how people drive cars? The first activity you control, while the 2nd activity you don't. If you openly accept that people drive dangerously, why do you intentionally place yourself in harms way by also riding a bike dangerously through traffic that is ,by your own admission, populated by people driving cars dangerously? And please, tell us how your behaviour contributes to the well-being and upliftment of cycling? This has been resolutely ignored.
divernick Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 When I was 17, back in 1996, I took my old Peugeot Mirage road bike down the hill past Flora. The Vetta cycle computer which I carefully calibrated said max speed of 91.2 km/h. Those were the days where we only wore helmets in races because you weren't allowed to ride without one. Never for training. Would I do it today? With a wife and 2 kids to look after, probably not....

There do seem to be a lot of "I only did it to smoke out the hypocrites/haters/old people" type of threads popping up.Clearly some very clever individuals around, somewhat like Baldrick they all seem to have a cunning plan.
