I became so tired of sitting in a gym and cycling, or doing treadmill, its horrible. Bought a bike purely for my cardio fix, thinking being outdoors is much more fun. 3 years later, I have owned 8 bikes, currently have 4, costing more than my car. Just love it, I realized I would never be competitive, but I enjoy every minute of it. Also, the best thing on earth, ever, is a ice ice cold beer with mates after a long, hard day in the saddle.

Love the wind in my hair. I used to windsurf a lot. Mtb was a natural choice for the days when the wind didn't blow....I just like being outdoors.

I've always had bike since I could walk, really got into it when my brother's new school had a race and I borrowed a bike to do the 10km and when I happened to cross the line first the bug bit.

I am ADHD and an adrenalin junkie so riding is my freedom, my happy place where I can get away from the rat race with no worries or phone calls, just the wind in my hair and the sun on my face, oh and I love the outdoors.

P.S. living in the midlands helps.[emoji1]

Commuting home in the rain,,,priceless feeling like a school child

Getting home after a long commute with a mate in the dark, talking about nothing specific, get home stress free ready for the kids with no work drama hanging on your shoulders

AND YOU MUST FINISH THE RIDE TO GET TO THE BEER TENT ;)

This is also nice. In the rain, getting home after dark with a friend... jis man. Awesome.

Used to be involved in Motorsport. Being on the tall side I was always fighting my weight. Started cycling to keep the weight off. After about two years, gave up all Motorsport and just road bikes. On the road, Off the road, whatever, just was too much fun. Did the racing thing for a few years to satisfy the competitor in me but now it's all about riding and enjoying every minute. Wife rides and both my boys ride. Nothing better in this world than heading out for a MTB ride with my father, wife and two kids. And I get to do it every week!! I'm the one you will see at the USN Cup RedBard race tomorrow with 3 bikes behind the car, 2 on the roof and chaos all around.

Nice man. You are so lucky to be able to cycle with all of them. Special moments for sure.

My boss pressured me into going for the first MTB ride with him. That was last year January. He stuffed me up, doing hill repeats whilst I was still trying to get to the top! I can gladly say a year later I did the same to him!!!

Cycling changed my life......might not be too good for my increase this year though....

been cycling everywhere since I was a kid, it's just the fastest and easiest way to get around (and frrreeeeee!)

I never tought of it as "doing sports" I was even known as a sports-hater. My husband and I did the occasional bike rides on weekends, really relaxed, max 20 km. We were proud of doing even 20km, that was a lot for us!
Then we planned a trip to New York and did the 5 Boro Bike Tour: that's the NY  edition of the Argus ;-) 68km and 32000participants, you get to ride on the highways and bridges around the city. That was soooo cool to do, amazing way to see the city and that really got me hooked.
Since then we're looking for fun cycling things to do on our travels. That's how I learned about the Argus/CTCT. And now, I even bought my very first road bike to prepare for the CTCT.
I love how I've become fitter and healthier, it feels great!

My friends are worried, they don't recognise me anymore, (talking about) cycling all the time!  :w00t:

If you 're ever in New York, the first sunday of May....

I started riding only because hubby was into it.  It was a complete change for me, coming from years of open water swimming.  The problem is I now ride so much I don't have time to swim.  It has been a year since I started and now have my three ponies (mtb, road and track bike) Cannot decide which one Iike best
