Oh goodness... there are some tutorials online showing guys fixing forks with epoxy depending on how deep it is...

 

its deep dude ... its wrecked ... one times new stansion ... here we come ...

 

Lucky its her bike so she has to pay ...

 

And no EL Cap .. there is no insurance on that.

2000 grit sand paper till its smooth and epoxy to fill the holes.. rinse repeat until smooth

 

 

or buy a new one

If that was mine and I was on a tight budget, I'd just max out the compression damping and up the pressure so I never get to that point in the travel... :ph34r:

those gouges are too deep for nail varnish

 

Edit, forgot  to add, I did it on a Fox Talas a few years ago, whilst it did not look great the fork worked for a year without major loss of oil or performance

Omnico will replace just the damper body, which even with the bundled full rebuild won't hurt nearly as much as fork stanchions.

 

You may well be pleasantly surprised.

 

Edit - looking at that thing again, you're lucky it didn't explode. Looks like you're most of the way through the body.

 

Ask your LBS to give you the old one back as a souvenir. I'm going to guess it's got a pretty solid dent going all the way to the inside as well.
