Spoke101 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 You luck it's not a Fox on that would set you back around R1500. You should be able to use the lever from Nick G in your axle.

The thread on the skewer is designed to take up slack on the bearing, not moose the bolt in place - the cam on the lever locks the axle in place. Step 2 - remove the lever using the 2.5mm allen key on the shaft Step 3 - find a 20mm allen key and remove what's left of the axle Step 4 - Head off to your LBS and order a new axle. Repeat step 1. Rule 1 of bike maintenance - if you have to force it, you're probably doing it wrong. Stripping the detent on the axle takes far more force than you can comfortably apply with your hand.

bergy Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 had same issues,got a KNcn axle which fell apart after 2 days ,eventually had one made by mark at good2go,never looked back,had one made for the rear aswell,both take a 5mm allen key
