I have a spare if u want......sliiiiighlty broken but still usable.

I'll see if I can upload a pic and then you'll see what I mean

Still better than paying R500 I guess.

You luck it's not a Fox on that would set you back around R1500.

 

You should be able to use the lever from Nick G in your axle.

Very happy its rockshox then!! Ya also thought to take the lever assembly and place it in my axle :thumbup:

whats up bro? this happend to me too, lever shred the stopper on my maxle, how did you get this off on your fork? thanks

 

Step 1 - read the instructions. The thread on the skewer is designed to take up slack on the bearing, not moose the bolt in place - the cam on the lever locks the axle in place.

 

Step 2 - remove the lever using the 2.5mm allen key on the shaft

 

Step 3 - find a 20mm allen key and remove what's left of the axle

 

Step 4 - Head off to your LBS and order a new axle. Repeat step 1.

 

Rule 1 of bike maintenance - if you have to force it, you're probably doing it wrong. Stripping the detent on the axle takes far more force than you can comfortably apply with your hand.

I managed to do the same to my maxle lite  :blush:

had same issues,got a KNcn axle which fell apart after 2 days ,eventually had one made by mark at good2go,never looked back,had one made for the rear aswell,both take a 5mm allen key
