Morning Hubbers

After the news yesterday i found myself a little demotivated about the Argus. But in saying that I think the cause of riding it for the fire fighters as well as the fellow cyclists killed in the past few weeks does help me to come round and still do it. I think the vibe will still be there just very compounded because the route is shorter. All and all maybe a hell of a fun day out?

Reading all the posts and feelings about every one it does seem that the camp is divided. Mixed emotions?

Your thoughts ?

Well as the Cycle Tour is really just the first real training ride for the DC for the team we will be doing it a few times on Sunday.  :P

Just as long we get to ride it will be a viab.

I will be there...Was abit disappointed last night when the news broke, but seeing the bigger picture in the morning, I am not missing it for anything.

One question: Does the Pro race still take place?

They will have a discussion with them today.

Will either be a 55 minute sprint session or they will just have a solidarity ride

I say - embrace change and enjoy the ride (not a race any more).

Consider it a long day time critical mass. Ride along with 35,000 like minded people on roads that you normally aren't allowed to ride on.

Embrace the fun side of riding - forget your 3 hour argus and have some fun. Stop for a beer. Chat to a local.

This is a chance to enjoy whats left of the scenery and get up close and personal with the devastation which should help you appreciate how fleeting life is!

Same here. I am getting married next weekend and after the news yesterday i chatted to the wife and at that point we did not see the need to make such a huge story of going and all of that but waking up this morning i saw everything more in perspective....I am going to ride that single speed rigid i built specifically just for this event.
