Not a club ride for me, but also starting in EL hope I can stick to the first +/- 30 guys and gals who managed sub-3 last year in EL (would love to have a sub-3 for Emperor's)...have a safe ride, see you guys on Sunday...will be fun!Looking forward to it.

Lurch the stalker Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Riding the 20 on Saturday with my sister, it's her first race. Then riding the 50 by myself on Sunday since I'm coming off the back of injury so not particularly fit right now.

So process of improving my seeding begins It's cool. I will do my best and try to just stay safe. Last time I did this race I went down with a bunch of elite ladies. It was a painful and expensive incident.

I would be keen to join you guys for the ride home. Not keen on riding through before the race...but that means I will need to convince the wife that driving me to the venue at some crazy hour is a good idea!

It can happen oh so quickly and inflict some serious damage to bike and person...Just one of those things. It wasn't too bad actually. Managed to finish the race but broke a pedal and had to replace the set. What was most annoying was destroying an Assos winter sock I had only worn twice, was flipping expensive and that I had bought as a special present to myself. Medical aid picked up the rest. Nothing actually brocken, limped for a few weeks and felt sorry for myself is all.

Seeded for VB, but had a looooooong lay-off Jan-mid March, so will start with Gerald and co in EL. In the yellow/black kit. Come say hi to us Cassie.
