And almost nothing of Robin and Jenny.
Bloukrans Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Lekker vibe at Uct except for bunch of protesting UCT students obsessed with Cecil John Rhodes. Scuffles broke out close to the start. Also saw a very heated argument between two riders, some @#$#@$$ were exchanged and they had to be seperated!! The one rider rode into yhe back wheel of the other after they crossed the finish line whilst moving out of the lane. The professionals are so cool with their mean machines. Platt and Huber look good. See you guys at Meerendal next week. Enjoy

And how is that part were they show some of the field going down that difficult ST and they have the ladies leaderboard up the whole time so that you can't see squat? They must have shown the ladies leaderboard about 10 - 15 times. If you need to show the leaderboard, use some useless camera footage where nothing is going on. I think the TV producer has a thing for Arianne or Annika!
johnw Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 The route was accessible for all to support... no issues. Walked on to trails by MF1 and also deer park climb.. spectators really close, was a pleasure.

Not looking forward to seeing what the state of that area is going to be like after that many competitors coming through. It's never really done well from large amounts of traffic in the past.

Would a 1200 riders cause that much more in a day compared to +-1200 in a week? Just a thought, as I've never ridden there before,..

There's not that much traffic on that lower single track, its not a majorly ridden part of the mtn. Most people tend to stay with the wider jeep tracks heading to the blockhouse, deadmans and into town. I went through there on Sat morning and it was looking shaky from all the practice runs and just saw an interview on SS with the Kargo guys that said the single track on the course was 'blown out' by the time they got to them. Hope the Epic management guys will repair the areas if they are hammered, sure they will. With so much of the mtn ravaged by fire and the coverage of the Epic there is going to be a lot mores tyres on the trails.

PhilipV Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 The chopper pilot following the leading ladies has some sick skills in his machine.The rotor wash of said chopper blew one of the top lady riders off her bike going up MF climb. It was like a headwind coming down the climb, and when the chopper moved to the side it blew her off. Not cool.
