epic women's race not up to scratch - Gunn-Rita

After Stage 3, Scott Factory Racing was over 50 minutes down in GC.  On Stage 4, they made an impressive breakaway early on and they went on to win the stage.  If they had to start at the back of the first group or in the second group on that day, would they have been able to do the same?  I am just asking an honest question here.

No doubt that picture does wonders for her.

Oodles of face paint and a push up type bra and we have a winner.

Here she is, the way nature intended .

it's called selective Googling - well known scientific search algorithm. Gets you the result you want every time.

Exactly, I am glad you understand how you found the cycle passion pic

weren't there only 20 something women only teams in the race? just qualify the ones with enough UCI points as Elites and start them together each day. if it's 10-15 teams amongst 600 then it's not going to create much fuss - by the end it was only 7/8 teams who are pretty serious. If they can start together for hotspot stages, then why not all of them?

Giving equal prizemoney is already special treatment. In the men's travis walker/rourke croeser were 1:22 back in 10th place. The 10th woman's team were 11hours back from RECM.

Just to put everyone in the picture, this is who we are discussing -

right, as you were, carry on...

Just to put a better picture of the rider who has won a total of 18 olympic, world and euro Gold medals and penned the article about her experience at the Epic. This is who we are discussing.

I honestly don't think so it takes a massive effort out of you.

Real funny this coming from somebody always preaching respect...

Why the personal gripe with Gunn Rita?

What's so funny about it, what makes you thinks it's a personal gripe ?

Her little blog post here comes across as a moan, should we just smile and wave at everything ?

I don't see anywhere in the thread that they fancied their chances against Ariane and Annika? Quite simply they are a world class marathon outfit, probably both in the top 5 for that discipline. You'd be hard pressed to put together a team that could match them (with sponsorships being put aside etc)

They did though probably fancy a few podiums on their outing?? (they did get one if I recall)...

Bottom line is, if as she says she started in B-batch after just the prologue, there is little coming back from that. The top men would have pulled those front girls miles away on the quick bunch starts.

And she's clearly had conversations with the Epic organisers, as she says she expects it will be better next year. She's probably the most famous female mountain biker in the world, with a palmares to match. She probably is something of a spokes person for female mtb cycling, and I would bet, sponsor alliances aside, Ariane and Annika have a whole lot of respect for her too

Her diary got us all debating didn't it

so his amaboep-pensie membership means nothing? EDIT: 102nd GC in 2006... Not bad for someone who has never been there before.

Jinne, I could have strangled my partner that year .

Who the hell pitches up at Epic sick and with a bag full of antibiotics ?

Inconsiderate fool .
