Is it just me or is the Cycle Lab sale on the Assos t.Equipe bib shorts at R1,999 a pair a phenomenal deall?

Strange that they classify these as MTB equipment as I would say these are more road cycling bibs especially as I see Assos have come out with MTB specific shorts.

You can't get this bib short for less than R2,500 anywhere locally and overseas I see they are going for $250+ so this seems like a magical deal especially as this is the new S7 range.  I know you can find the odd Assos Uno S5 (older model and bottom of the range) in XXL or larger for R1,500 but this is for all sizes.

There is no bib shorts that come close to Assos when it comes to comfort.  They are crazy expensive but dare I say worth it.  I mean even Castelli don't even hold a candle to Assos.  The material is so comfy and the shammy is out of this world.

Anyone buy a Crankit bib shorts?  I heard rumours that they are basically the old Assos Uno shammy rebranded to be a more entry level product for SA.  Unless JJ Cycling want us to think that as they are Assos agents but basically have just created a local brand they want to flog.  Crankit are not cheap at R1,500 a pair.

I must be a serious cheapskate but 2000 ZA rondts for a pair of lycra shorts mon dieu

I remember paying R1400 for my first pair, was painful to spend that much on padding. Now I own about 5 pairs and will not hesitate to spend again.

Will be the best R2k that you have ever spent! I struggled to get myself to buy my first pair, now I dont hesitate to drop dollars on bibs.

bibs and good bike fits, is the area you should not skimp on, forget upgrading your rear derailleur... bibs and fit I tell you :)

I've got a Neopro S7 i bought last year, how does it compare to the t.Equipe?

I know it is the more expensive one so it should be better but is there this much of a difference as the price suggests?

It is only the first pair of Assos shorts that are "expensive".

From there you understand why and will buy it again and again.

My S7's are now almost a year old.

And am VERY impressed with them!!

That's a very good price. Is it only online or in store too.

Online and instore.

I just changed my plan to go into the store over the weekend and I purchased them online now.

I completely understand why people say if you buy one pair, you will never buy anything else again. My other bibs are ruined basically.
