R4V is the last seeding race for 94.7 so Satellite will only count towards Argus.

Where did you hear that?

Unless they have changed it...but in 2013 I complained that my Satellite time wasn't taken into consideration and last year the cut-off was also around that time.. see this:

http://cyclechallenge.co.za/content/images/CC/CC-Seeding-events-23-September-2014.pdf

I cannot find a list of seeding races for this year but I assume it would be the same. Makes sense as they would need time to sort out groups, print numbers etc etc.

EDIT: Have e-mailed them, lets see if we get a response.

This year's race has a slightly different route, and if the wind blows like it normally does the first 20Km and final 20Km will be into the wind. The rest will all be tail/cross winds and very nice rolling terrain or downhill. Oh, and it's also 5Km shorter (which will probably result in about 8-10 minutes quicker times for the open groups - all depending on the wind conditions and group speed).

Did anyone say "gutter"

Quick question:

When I entered they asked me if I require a temporary CSA licence and I selected NO but they charged me R35 for a temporary licence anyway and there was no way I could complete my entry without paying for the temporary licence.

Did this happen to anyone else?

Yes but I don't have a licence so I thought they picked it up now somehow

Did not happen to me, but I have a CSA License. Do you have one. Maybe they have a system in place to check if you have one.

Yes I do and it's paid in full long before I entered.

Licence was issued on the 26/05/2015 and is valid until 25/05/2016.

I checked the CSA website again just now and it also shows the licence is active.

I accidently said YES instead of No, because I received a licence when I joined Club Vitality.

I phoned the race office and they send me a new invoice with the correct amount.

I'm sure if you phone them they will be able to sort you out.

I can remember that when I selected No on my wife's registration I had to put in her licence number.

If you haven't paid CSA and provincial affiliation (membership) fees, then you will be charged R35 for a day licence.

It would be R120 for CSA Membership, and then another fee for provincial affiliation. CGC was R75. For next year, Gauteng will be split into 5 regions (Gauteng North, East, West, Central and South).

From the CSA website:

Membership:  A membership of Cycling SA costs R120.00 per year. Valid for 12 months. A membership holder is entitled to enter any event, irrespective of discipline without having to purchase a day license. A member is allowed to participate in a national series event, but will not be eligible for national or provincial selection. A membership of Cycling SA, is the most basic form of license and is an agreement of the rider to abide by the rules of the event in which they participate.

Breakdown for 2015 CSA Membership Fee:

Standard Fee (CSA Membership)           R75.00
Group Insurance Cover                        R38.00
Loyalty Card Fee                                 R 7.00

R38.00 Group Insurance Cover:

Medical Insurance through Hollard, includes free Road Cover
Road Cover will facilitate claims for any injuries during training and racing, against the Road Accident Fund Policy covers all commissaires (who are members) who sustain any medical conditions whilst officiating at sanctioned cycling races.

Full Racing License:  This category of license is for riders from the age of 17 years old who wish to be eligible for provincial and national selection and respective colours award. The bearer of a full license is entitled to partake in national championship or series race and be seeded accordingly. Those of who race in the UCI categories (Junior, U23 and Elite) earn UCI points which will assist them in being seeded at future UCI category events, world cups and championships. The cost of a full racing license is R350 per year, and the applicant has to be member of an affiliated club, as well as be a registered member of Cycling SA. These can be done simultaneously.
This is for Elite, Junior, U23, VA, VB, VC, U16, etc.

Day License:  The Day-license is designed to allow the absolute new-comers to the sport to participate within the rules and regulations of the sport. These participants, who do not hold a full license or membership, need to purchase a day license. By purchasing a day license the rider agrees to participate in the event and abide with the rules of the event and those of Cycling SA for that day. A day license costs R35.00 and is only valid for one day.
This is if you haven't paid the membership and provincial fees.

Provincial levy:  Some provinces charge an additional levy to assist with the development and running of the provincial structures. These levies vary from province to province. Your province, which is made up of the clubs will provide the information as to what and how these funds are utilised within your province, as these are determined by the input from clubs at regional and provincial meetings. The various provinces levies are: Gauteng Central - R75, Gauteng North - R50; Kwazulu Natal - R50; Free State - R75; Eastern Province - R50; North West - R75; Limpopo  - R50; Mpumalanga - R25; Northern Cape - R50; Southern Gauteng - R50; Western Cape - R25

Also entered my licence number.

It's R35 and I'm not going to make a fuss about it if it only happened to me, but if it happened to a lot of people then that R35 adds up quickly.

I'll just have a extra ice cream and milkshake after the race.

This happened to me too and I was completing a bulk entry with a number of people who have full racing licenses. I just emailed the race office, and they removed it and I completed the payment.

Thanks.

Mailed them and they said they are willing to refund me at registration. Impressed at the speedy reply I received from Daleen

The reason I did not phone or emailed them before making the payment is because I only entered a few hours before the entries closed. Lesson learned.........don't wait until the last minute to enter
