Squier Posted June 9, 2015 Share Far less than 900 teams on the results... Closer to 700? I recall some speculation about a 4th event? So maybe a move back to 650 teams with an extra event? The Trail this year had 643 teams that finished and about 80 teams DNF. Nowhere near 900.
davetapson Posted June 9, 2015 Share sheesh, that is ALOT of money earning interest ! Ja... um, no. Do you think that the he paid for the barn at Jolivet / Jolivet itself / the barn at Glen Cairn / Glen Cairn itself on the day before the Trail started? Do you think that the he paid for the barn at Jolivet / Jolivet itself / the barn at Glen Cairn / Glen Cairn itself on the day before the Trail started? Hey Dave totally agree with you. Not knocking Farmer Glen at all. It is just an amazing amount of money to have. And if you read what I said - if over 50% is donated, finishing the concrete pathway, paying off the floating bridge (which was imported but also used for J2c and D2C). Well good luck to the S2C people for creating an event that makes them a bit of money. Just like that other race for a bank of amalgamated banks around the "cape" which for some is epic, but cannot be mentioned. Dont enter if you dont like the price. Only sheep follow the flock. Jva Posted June 9, 2015 Share Now where to teach my new team mate for 2016 how to ride switch backs so that she doesn't piss the fast multi skilled and talented trail riders off . any suggestions in Gauteng area with more or less same profile and turn radius The trails at Mount Grace in Magaliesburg are very good for swithcback training. I forget the name of the bike park there but google it.

Terminator Posted June 9, 2015 Share Agree, this years entry system was a dream compared to previous years. I think keeping the entry date a bit low key also helped in reducing the hype and mad rush at opening time. As far as the bucks for the event goes - put on a top notch event like Farmer Glen and co do and you'll have a waiting list no matter the cost. It's awesome to see the money going into making the race villages as comfortable as they are getting!
