Are there a lot of people that crash into each other that much in our sport? I've never managed to hit anyone out on the trails (or road to be honest) here or abroad ever. Feel like i should try a bit harder now.

I fall a lot but that is normally on my own. :)

You can put kill markings on your bike like this, or the black aircraft silhouette... ;)

Had a similar thing happen to me last year at red barn,we were flying dow one of the trails and a guy came up the trail(unknowingly as it was his first time riding there) i hit him hard with my right hand breaking my pinky, ring and middle finger. he was very apologetic and paid for my medical and bike expenses as soon as we sent him the invoices .

All forgiven :)

Is this the same table mountain in cape town where mountain bikers don't return greetings?

Well, then I am not really surprised.

Sorry your bike got damaged - hope the other guy's face hurts.

Why - he had right of way if he was going uphill.... or is this a piece of one way track?

I find the road from Rhodes Memorial to the Kings Blockhouse jam-packed on a Saturday and a Sunday morning, but as soon as you ride a little further on to the Vredehoek quarry or Tafelberg Road and Dead Mans Tree, it is dead quiet. It seems as if most peeps got it into their heads that the Blockhouse is the only manly ride worth doing while there are many more miles waiting to explore. Strange.

100%... the block house run should be called the c*ckhouse run as everyone gives it some some serious Stravvaaaaa on the weekend!

I spend a fair amount of time on the hill (walking & running with my mutts and riding obviously) and I'm always stoked how few people I see outside of the Mem > Blockhouse > Epic DH even on a weekend. It's got a lot busier for sure which isn't too much of a problem it's the kind of attitude that a lot of riders have come with. This side of the mountain has alot of other non wheel'd traffic and it's aways been very harmonious but now it's suffering from illegal trails riding and people hammering on the (busy) public paths with families and hikers out for a nice day.

After this past few weekends I have decided to avoid walking my dog up there on a Saturday or a Sunday morning. Just too much traffic and an accident waiting to happen. And just in case fellow riders get hot under the collar, my dog is bloody well trained and under control, which is more than can be said for some riders. He's friendlier too!
