"Please be informed that as part of the Coach Development Programme delivered under the auspices of the World Cycling Center, Mr. Lauer has successfully completed the UCI Coaching Diploma. This does however not mean that Mr. Lauer is a “UCI accredited coach”.

What precisely does this mean? Did he have a 100% attendance record during the course and therefore, according to the UCI "successfully" completed it?  But because he isn't the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree and the UCI actually wants F-all to do with him he wasn't accredited?

Well if I can assume then it sounds likeSwen Lauer - UCI certified MTB & BMX Coach l KTM bikes/Giro/Crank brother Ambassador l Product Designer l Founder of Pedal2Medal bike school never probably wrote his exams to become a certified Coach and by the looks of things decided to falsely advertise

Haha, ja, once I start on the diuretics, laxatives and methamphetamine, I'll be ready for Strava (as dictated by some coaches, I am sure) . For now, I shall pedal in a circle.

Most people pedal in circles.... care to demonstrate pedalling in octagons? or do you need the metamphetamine to achieve that in you dreams?

Riding in circles is another matter entirely... but seems Sven the tjop can only ride uphill on downhills...

Passing a course doesn't mean you are accredited. Often refresher courses are needed or at times a yearly fee is payable. Seems like Sven is not big on paying.

Smells like false advertising to me. Come on Shebeen let him know about the feedback and tell him you will report him to the advertising authorities.

The closest I get to an Octagon is the EFC. (Elusive Foreign Coach). And it depends very much in whose circles you pedal. In some circles, you could lose a wad of cash in unlicensed activities. (The meth just helps with a toothy grin when you win)

Shebeen, can we get him* to send his certification as proof? Would love to see what level he's at. Seems that certificate costs a pretty penny or should I say Swiss Franc.

Well all I can say is good luck in finding other good coaches, my boyf has been approaching top coaches and being turned away because they are too busy.

Good coaches are busy but I'm sure Swen Lauer - UCI certified MTB & BMX Coach l KTM bikes/Giro/Crank brother Ambassador l Product Designer l Founder of Pedal2Medal bike school will have plenty of slots available after this incident.

For just EUR600 you may even get more than 2 weeks of cut-and-paste coaching...

A mate has shown a keen interest to get into a wee bit of mtb over the past few months. So in an attempt to fuel her fire. I rummaged through a pile of cycling publications and found this edition of the Full sus with our man of the moment. post-47764-0-15120400-1436257088_thumb.jpg

Needless to say my cow patty-o-meter detected it and it's distribution was withheld.

Ja, but even if it is free, you'll get two weeks' worth of the next six monthly editions...

Get on bike, pedal hard, load on strava, repeat.

If he really wants to do well, buy a power meter, then he will feel so guilty after spending the money, he will train every day.

Then boom, will get fitter.

Dont even need to turn the power meter on :P

Alot of friends that have bought power meters and got coaches are much faster now, but if you check their strava, they are riding 6 times more now :P  ha ha.

*This is a gross over simplification for some of the masses.* * I am about as qualified as Swen to give advice on the subject*

I have a newly formed (as in right now) accreditation bureau.

I hereby officially accredit Savage's training programme as well as Savage.

From now on he can charge whatever he wants for his programme.

Savage, the accreditation audit cost 1 year's supply of the strongest Arabica blend you can find.
